RASIRC Ships New RainMaker Humidification System for Use in Environmental Monitoring
Device delivers high pressure, high temperature humidification
San Diego, Calif. - July 9, 2009 - RASIRC®, the steam purification company, today announced the shipment of a new RainMaker™ Humidification System (RHS) specially designed for environmental monitoring. The system will be used during exhaust stack simulation, which requires humidity delivery at 50 psi and a carrier gas flow rate of 10 liters per minute. The RHS provides a steady stream of purified water vapor while maintaining a set dew point. The RHS was named one of the most innovative products by R&D magazine.
The RHS will control the humidity level during the simulation of effluent flue gas. The RHS uses a unique hydrophilic non-porous membrane that allows water vapor to pass into the gas stream, but prevents the gas from entering the water. Through a new pressure matching design, high pressure gases can be humidified to a temperature approaching 95°C. This allows for a much greater range of flow and pressure conditions. It also provides an additional level of safety when working with flammable or toxic gases such as hydrogen, which is often used as one of the process gases.
“When simulating stack gases it is difficult to tightly control water vapor independent of combustion gases. The RASIRC RHS-HP is ideal for applications where the high pressure gases need to be humidified at above 80°C such as stack simulation in environmental monitoring processes or fuel cells test stands,” said Jeff Spiegelman, president of RASIRC.
The RASIRC RHS is available in several configurations to suit different applications. Both external and internal dew point and thermal control probes are available. Units are available to support a range of delivery pressures, carrier flow rates, humidity requirements, and power options.
